I've been in private practice for twenty years but I had a life before that, which informs my work in terms of human and multicultural experiences, creativity and connecting dots. After receiving much of my education Germany, buy work took me to different countries until I eventually settled in the United States.
This familiarized me with the challenges of being far from all one knows and loves, adjusting to a different culture and building a new life,. including another career. I developed some understanding of multicultural issues and love working with people from different countries. And I learned that we constantly change and need to adapt at times.
Other personal experiences include dealing with the challenges of being an artist (i.e., confronting creative blocks, rejection, existential fears)... chronic illness ... issues of aging parents... death and significant losses.
Why am I disclosing all this? Because I think that these personal experiences combined with my professional expertise have enhanced my work in terms of empathy and understanding, instilling hope and working towards creating a meaningful life.
